Valalta Beach is a located inside a large nude resort called FKK Valalta. The beach is private property but you can still visit if you respect the rules (more on that below). There are plenty of nude beaches in Croatia but at least at this one you’re guaranteed to find other people sans clothing.
Situated a stone’s throw away from Rovinj, Valalta Beach offers a serene nude beach retreat within a well-equipped camping resort. While you may not find it hogging the limelight in most online forums, it appears to be a favorite among the seasoned European naturist crowd. Throughout our visit, we chatted with a variety of visitors, from families and couples to solo travelers, all appreciating the natural surroundings and all here to experience an authentic nude getaway. This is definitely nothing like Cap d’Agde and you shouldn’t expect any behavior like Matt & Megan had that that beach or village.

Valalta Beach is a sprawling oasis stretching along the clear, sparkling waters of the Adriatic Sea. The beach consists of both sandy and rocky areas, with the latter acting as an easy access point into the sea. Considering it’s part of an established resort, it offers plenty of facilities, from a fully stocked grocery store to a selection of restaurants and bars, and even an on-site brewery. You should certainly consider trying out some local cuisine at the resort’s restaurant, a treat after a day under the sun. Depending on which restaurant or store you visit, clothes may or may not be required. However it is safe to say nearly all outdoor restaurants or bars allow you to dine in your natural state.
Valalta Beach, with its relaxed and respectful atmosphere, is a suitable destination for both experienced naturists and first-timers. Despite the considerable influx of visitors during the peak season, the beach never feels overly crowded, thanks to its expansive size. As the day turns into a balmy evening, the beach takes on a more vibrant pulse, with the sunset offering a breathtaking spectacle. If your visit aligns with the resort’s schedule, consider joining one of their organized events – there are normally plenty of activities during the day.
While access to the beach requires a fee due to its location within the resort, and nudity is mandatory, the offerings of Valalta Beach can easily outweigh these factors for many. Some guests have noted a less than warm reception from security staff at the resort gate, but we did not encounter this during our visit. However, it’s worth being prepared for these potential experiences.
Single people are not permitted to visit the beach or resort unless you have a ‘Loyalty Card Valalta’. Everyone is also required to leave a piece of ID on arrival – which is returned on your departure. It is unfortunate this is required even for day visits but it is private property and they can do what they want. Ultimately, if you respect the rules and the environment, your visit to Valalta should be an enjoyable and memorable one.
