Nude Beach Map. Visited 2023
We visited Kalamitsi Nude Beach on a busy weekend in the middle of summer. Despite the huge crowds at the main beaches, this place felt secluded and tranquil; it was exactly what we were hoping for. The small walk keeps prying eyes away from the beach, making it the perfect location to experience a nude beach for the first time. Unfortunately, not all Greek nude beaches are this relaxed or easy to find.
The walk over the rocky headland in the sun was HOT, really hot. We recommend taking lots of water and lunch if you’re planning to stay the day. It’s the kind of place you don’t want to leave after making the effort to get there. The beach is home to a small population of campers, but there are no amenities or facilities here. We did pick up some lunch from Koko Beach Bar on the way and had no regrets at all doing that, especially when it involved an icy cold beer in the hot sun. Paradise!

Kalamitsi Nude Beach overlooks the sparsely populated coastline and feels like you are a world away from the busy tourist town. The water is refreshing, and the fluffy golden sand deflects some of the sun’s heat – so it doesn’t warm up too much during the day. It would be paradise to camp here, and the people we did see under the tents were mostly sleeping or enjoying the day very slowly. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming; it seems like a very tight-knit community, but day visitors were not treated differently. Almost everyone here was naked, except when walking across the trail to the main beach area (clothes are needed here).
There are other empty beaches nearby where it might be appropriate to go nude, but at Kalamitsi Nude Beach, you’re guaranteed to be surrounded by other people sans clothing. We didn’t see anyone accidentally stumble upon this beach; in fact, most tourists don’t know it exists (a good thing!). Most bars and restaurants in Kalamitsi are of outstanding quality; despite appearances that they might cater mainly to tourists, the food is authentic and delicious.
The other nearest nude beach to Kalamitsi is Paradise Beach in Toroni, about a 20-minute drive away. This place is much more remote and seems to attract mostly campers; we never saw any day visitors here during our time at the beach. In our opinion, Kalamitsi is the much better choice; the beach is easier to access, and there’s more room to move around.
Kalamitsi Nude Beach is highly recommended. We came back several times during our stay and had no regrets. The first time we did get slightly lost following the trail, it is important to follow the fork to the right and not attempt to climb over the hill (apparently that takes you to a totally different beach with a rocky beach and rougher conditions). We did see boats arrive to drop off naked visitors for the day – so this is possibly an option if you ask local operators. However, the walk really isn’t that far, and you get to enjoy the scenery along the way, which is nice.

Getting There
The trail starts on the far left of the textile beach. Walk past Koko Beach Bar, and you'll see a trail leading up the rocky headland; follow this and take the fork to the right. Soon, you'll encounter another trail leading to a viewpoint; don't take that - stick to the left instead, and follow the curve of the bay towards the beach. Only the first and last part of the trail is slightly tricky, but if you have sturdy shoes, it should be relatively easy.
By Car: Kalamitsi can be a busy place to try and find a car park in the middle of summer. Thankfully, the town is small, and wherever you park shouldn't be too far from the trailhead. The closest parking near the trail is in front of Koko Beach Bar on the street but normally this area is taken from late morning.

Kokos Beach Bar
This unassuming beach bar is a great place to pickup lunch or drinks on the way (they sell beer also). It is located right in front of the trail to the nude beach. The sandwiches here are tasty and very affordable. They will pack it up in containers for transportation to the beach. Easy!
