The first thing that struck us was the stunning natural beauty. The beach is framed by steep cliffs covered in lush greenery, creating a sense of seclusion and tranquility. The golden sands stretch out into crystal-clear turquoise waters, perfect for swimming and snorkeling. We immediately felt the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere that Mirtiotissa is known for.
We arrived early, around 9:00 AM, to snag a good spot. By then, the beach was already starting to come alive with a mix of regulars and new faces. The naturist vibe is strong here, and it was refreshing to see people of all ages and backgrounds enjoying the sun and sea in their natural state. It felt like a close-knit community, with many visitors returning year after year.
The beach is relatively small, which adds to its charm. There’s a tiny beach bar that opens during the peak summer months, offering cold drinks and snacks. We grabbed a couple of drinks and chatted with the friendly bartender, who gave us tips on the best spots to swim and snorkel. .
One thing to note is the lack of natural shade, so definitely bring an umbrella or some form of cover. The sun can be quite intense, and there aren’t any trees to provide relief. We found a great spot by the water’s edge, where the breeze kept us cool and the view was simply unbeatable. You can rent umbrellas on the beach from 5- 10 euros per day.
As the day went on, the beach filled up quickly. By noon, it was almost at full capacity, but the atmosphere remained friendly and relaxed. We noticed a diverse crowd – couples, singles, and groups of friends, with naturists just outnumbering the clothed visitors. Everyone kept to themselves, but there was a sense of camaraderie that made us feel right at home.
The nearby village of Vatos is a great place to stay if you want to extend your visit. We stayed in a charming guesthouse there and loved the traditional Greek tavernas and shops. It’s a short drive from the beach and offers a perfect blend of convenience and seclusion.
Overall, our day at Mirtiotissa Beach was nothing short of magical. The combination of natural beauty, a welcoming community, and the sense of freedom that comes with naturism made it an unforgettable experience. Whether you’re a seasoned nude beach visitor or trying it out for the first time, Mirtiotissa Beach is a must-visit destination on Corfu.
