Getting There
Located in the tranquil countryside of Swellendam, Bare Necessities is a peaceful naturist retreat surrounded by mountains and natural beauty. Positioned just 230 kilometers from both Cape Town and George, the property is nestled near the Tradouw Pass and offers convenient access to the historic town of Swellendam. The farm's secluded location provides the perfect escape for those looking to immerse themselves in nature and the naturist lifestyle.
By Car:
From Cape Town:
Take the N1 or N2 highway out of Cape Town.
Follow the N2 towards Swellendam.
Once you reach Swellendam, follow signs for the R324.
Drive through Tradouw Pass for breathtaking views, and follow the signs to Bare Necessities.
The trip takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours.
From George:
Take the N2 West out of George.
Continue on the N2 until you reach R324.
Turn onto R324 and follow signs through the Tradouw Pass to Bare Necessities.
The drive from George takes about 2.5 hours.
By Public Transport:
Public transport options to the resort are limited due to the remote location. The best way to reach Bare Necessities is by car, either through self-drive or a private transfer service from Cape Town or Swellendam.
For those arriving by bus, the nearest major bus stop is in Swellendam, and from there, you can arrange a taxi or private transfer to the resort, which is around a 30-minute drive.
