If you’ve followed Nude Beach Map for a while, you’ll know this has never really been a business plan.
It started because we loved discovering clothing-optional beaches and wanted to share them with other people. There was no grand strategy, no investors and no office - just the two of us, a camera, a map and a lot of curiosity.
Over the years, what started as a little passion project has somehow grown into a community of more than 150,000 people around the world.
Honestly, that still blows us away.

One thing we’ve realised along the way is that most people aren’t nervous about naturism itself. They’re nervous because they simply don’t know what to expect.
Where do you park? Do you stay naked all day? What’s the etiquette? Is it family-friendly? Will it feel awkward?
Those were exactly the questions we had ourselves.
That’s why Nude Beach Map has never just been about listing beaches. Our goal has always been to make naturism feel less intimidating, explain the unwritten rules and help people visit their first clothing-optional beach with confidence.
Because once people actually experience naturism, they usually discover it’s nothing like the stereotypes they’ve grown up hearing.
That mission hasn’t changed. In fact, it has become even more important.

Keeping the heart of Nude Beach Map free
Very early on, Megan and I made ourselves a promise: we never wanted to put the heart of Nude Beach Map behind a paywall.
The beach listings, articles, reviews, YouTube videos and practical information that help people discover naturism for the first time will remain free and accessible.
That is how our community grows.
Every article that helps someone overcome their nerves, every video that changes someone’s perception and every new beach we document benefits the wider naturist community.

The reality, though, is that creating all of this takes a considerable amount of time and money.
Every beach review means travelling there, researching it, filming, photographing, editing, writing, checking the practical information and then trying to keep everything current.
We’d love to spend more time reviewing beaches, updating older listings, visiting new destinations and creating practical downloadable guides.
That’s what excites us.
But doing it properly comes with real costs.

Why naturist creators struggle with advertising
Most mainstream travel websites help fund their work through advertising. The more people who visit, the more advertising revenue they earn.
Naturist creators often don’t get the same opportunity.
Even though our content is family-friendly, educational and focused on travel, many advertising platforms still classify naturism alongside adult or sexual content and refuse to work with it.
Anyone who has spent time in the naturist community knows that social nudity and sexual content are entirely different things.
Rather than changing what we create or watering it down to satisfy advertisers, we’d rather stay true to what Nude Beach Map has always been.
That’s also why we’d encourage you to support any naturist creator whose work you genuinely enjoy.
Whether it’s a photographer, writer, filmmaker, magazine, podcaster or organisation, independent creators help keep naturism visible, welcoming and growing.

Why we created Beach Bums
Beach Bums wasn’t created to hide content.
Quite the opposite.
We wanted to keep the heart of Nude Beach Map free while creating something extra for the people who wanted more.. and for those who wanted to help us continue building it.
Every membership helps us spend more time reviewing beaches, producing videos, creating downloadable travel guides, updating information and continuing to tell positive stories about naturism.
With more support, we can review more beaches and resorts, revisit older listings, improve outdated information and answer more of the practical questions that make trying naturism feel less intimidating.
Beach Bums members receive fresh exclusive content at least every two weeks, including extended videos, behind-the-scenes updates, downloadable travel guides, destination advice, member discounts and practical resources that don’t always fit elsewhere on Nude Beach Map.

Working with the wider naturist community
We’re incredibly proud to be a Corporate Partner of the International Naturist Federation, or INF-FNI.
For us, that means being part of an international network committed to responsible, respectful naturism. It also reflects our desire to work alongside established naturist organisations and help the movement remain visible, welcoming and relevant to a new generation.
We’ve also partnered with H&E Naturist, so Beach Bums members receive a complimentary digital edition of the latest magazine.
We’re collaborating with naturist advocates and creators such as Francelli Rentería, along with other voices from around the world who will contribute their own experiences, stories and perspectives.

Building it together
One thing that’s really important to us is that Beach Bums won’t simply be something we build for members.
We want to build it with them.
Tell us which beaches need better information. Tell us which resorts deserve a review. Tell us what guides would make your next naturist trip easier and where you’d love to see us travel next.
If enough people ask for something, we’ll do everything we can to make it happen.
Ultimately, Beach Bums isn’t just about memberships.
It’s about creating a sustainable way for Nude Beach Map to keep growing while staying true to why we started it in the first place.
Whether you decide to become a Beach Bum or simply continue reading our articles and watching our videos, thank you.
The fact you’re here means you care about naturism, and that’s something we’re incredibly grateful for.
This really does feel like the beginning of a new chapter.
