- Gentle water entry – great for swimming: The seabed slopes gradually, meaning no need for water shoes. Swimmers can safely enter the water with ease. Conditions are typically calm, especially outside windy days.
- Peaceful atmosphere: Ranked 11th out of 76 beaches in Guadeloupe, it’s popular among visitors who prefer tranquility over tourism bustle. Ideal for unwinding, reading, and enjoying scenic views without distraction.
- Year-round comfortable climate: Air and sea temperatures remain warm across all seasons; reaching up to 28.9°C air / 29.4°C water in September, and no lower than 25.9°C air / 26.4°C water in February, making Strap Salt Beach suitable for beach days any time of year.
- Minimal but present facilities: Unlike many quiet beaches, Strap Salt Beach still offers basic toilets and a small bar, so you’re not entirely without amenities.
The Bad
- Not a nude beach: Despite its inclusion, this beach is mostly textile. With people occasionally stripping off in remote sections of the beach.
- Very limited infrastructure: Although toilets and a bar exist, facilities are extremely minimal. No umbrellas, chairs, shops, sports rentals, or lifeguards. Visitors should bring most necessities (water, snacks, sun protection).
- Lacks shade or natural coverage: Few (if any) shaded areas. Sun exposure can be intense, especially in peak daylight months. Consider bringing an umbrella or visiting earlier or later in the day.
- Few accommodation options nearby: Only one place to stay within 3 km, so day trips are more common than beach-based stays.
- Can feel very remote: While peacefulness is a strength, those looking for lively atmosphere, water sports, or dining options may find the beach too quiet.
The Naked Truth
Strap Salt Beach is calm, clean, and quietly beautiful; but it’s mostly a textile beach, with people occasionally stripping off in remote areas. What you get here is space: long stretches of soft sand, gentle water you can walk straight into, and an atmosphere that feels deliberately unhurried. It’s the kind of beach where people read, walk, swim, and leave footprints rather than noise.
Facilities exist but are bare-bones, shade is almost nonexistent, and the remoteness means you need to come prepared and self-contained. Nudity would stand out here and likely feel out of place. Strap Salt works best for travelers who value simplicity, warmth, and quiet over novelty or social energy. Don't bet on others being naked here or the ability to strip naked yourself. If your idea of a good beach day is doing very little, very comfortably, this one delivers; without fuss, crowds, or pretenses.

Beach Surface
Very fine, white sand that is flat and comfortable. Ideal for barefoot walking. Entry into the water is smooth with a gradual slope, making it swimmer-friendly. Water clarity varies but is generally pleasant. Not known for rocks or sea urchins along the main swimming area.

Easy. Strap Salt Beach is directly accessible by road. Visitors can park nearby or arrive by taxi. No hike or rugged trail needed. Terrain from vehicle to shoreline is typically flat and straightforward.

Getting There
Located along the nude beaches in Caribbean coast of Grande-Terre Island, near Saint-François, Guadeloupe.
By Car or Taxi: From Saint-François town center, drive approximately 8 km toward the coastline, following local beach signage. The nearest reference point is La Baie Sainte-Marie, located about 8.1 km from the beach. Parking is available close to the shoreline, and no significant walking is required once you arrive.
By Public Transport: There is no direct bus service to Strap Salt Beach. Access is best by rental car or taxi.
