OPTIONALNudity tolerated, not official
The Good
- Quiet, tucked-away shoreline: Set below East Point Park on the far-east Scarborough Bluffs, well away from the city bustle. Trails drop you to a low-key, natural lakeshore.
- Big-sky lake views: Wide sightlines over Lake Ontario and the harbour approaches make it a pretty spot to watch weather and waves. (No designated swimming beach here, which helps keep the vibe mellow.)
- Nature on your doorstep: The East Point Park trails above the beach are great for walks and birding before or after a dip/sun.
- Easy city access: You can reach the trailheads by car or TTC, then make a short walk down to the water.
The Bad
- Unofficial status: This is not an authorized nude beach. Toronto’s only official clothing-optional area is Hanlan’s Point; here, nudity is by quiet custom and can draw complaints.
- No lifeguards or facilities: There’s no supervised swimming, changing rooms, or taps; bring everything you need and pack out trash.
- Bluff hazards & erosion The broader Scarborough Bluffs are unstable in places; stick to signed paths and stay back from cliff edges.
- Mixed crowd awareness: Because it’s unofficial and near family-use trails, be discreet and respectful; don’t expect a “social nude beach” scene.
The Naked Truth
Beechgrove (often called “Beechgrove Beach West”) is an unofficial naturist pocket at the lake’s edge below East Point Park. Locals use it quietly, no signs, no services, just a sliver of shore where clothing-optional sunbathing happens without fuss. It’s serene when the lake is calm, but conditions and crowds change day to day, and there’s no guarantee of full-nude acceptance everywhere along the strand. If you want an official option, head to Hanlan’s Point Beach, which is another nude beach in Toronto, Canada, if you want a low-key, natural nook on the east side, this is it.
Insider Tip
Keep cover-ups handy when passing families or park staff on the trails. Use a towel on natural seating, be camera-courteous, and follow standard naturist etiquette.
Who's Here
A mix of low-key locals: walkers from East Point Park, solo sunbathers, occasional couples. Not typically a party beach.
Beach Surface
Natural, unmaintained lakeshore - cobbles/pebbles with some sand patches and driftwood. No buoyed swim area; waves and footing vary.
Access Difficulty
Moderate: a short walk down from the park trailheads; paths can be uneven. No stairs or mats to the waterline.
