The Good
- Defined nudist cove: The naturist area is not the main beach but a separate small cove tucked behind rocks on the right side. It creates a clear physical boundary that naturally separates it from the clothed section.
- Natural rock shielding: Large rock formations block direct view from the main Elia Beach. This gives the nudist area a more private feel without being completely isolated.
- Soft sand and clear water: Unlike many Greek beaches, this area has a smoother sandy base mixed with some pebbles. The water is clean, calm, and easy to swim in.
- Social and open vibe: The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, with people generally comfortable and respectful. It’s a place where interaction feels natural rather than forced.
- Easy access from main beach: You only need a short walk of around five minutes from the main Elia Beach to reach the nudist section. It’s simple without needing a hike.
- Bus accessibility: Regular buses from Mykonos town make it possible to reach the beach without a car. The connection is straightforward and commonly used by visitors.
The Bad
- Small and crowded space: The nudist cove itself is quite compact, so it fills up quickly and is one of the busiest nude beaches in Mykonos. Arriving late often means limited space.
- High beach club pricing: Loungers and umbrellas in the main Elia area can be expensive, often much higher than average beach prices.
- Limited facilities in nude area: Once you’re in the nudist cove, there are no proper toilets or structured services nearby. You rely on the main beach facilities.
- Mixed expectations: While it is a known nudist spot, not everyone participates, especially closer to the transition areas. The vibe depends on the crowd that day.
- Steep walk over rocks: The short path into the cove involves uneven ground and rocks, which can be slightly tricky without proper footwear.
- Niche crowd dynamic: The crowd tends to lean heavily toward a specific social scene, which may not match everyone’s expectations.
The Naked Truth
Elia Nudist Beach feels less like a separate destination and more like a hidden continuation of Elia itself. Walk beyond the main beach, slip past the rocks, and the atmosphere changes almost instantly. The crowds thin out, the noise drops away, and everything feels more relaxed and personal.
That’s really the appeal of this nude beach in Mykonos. It isn’t heavily signposted or formally separated — it simply exists just out of sight of the main stretch, naturally divided by the landscape and the people who choose to spend their day there.
It’s not remote, wild or difficult to reach, but it still gives you that satisfying feeling of having found somewhere a little removed from the obvious Mykonos beach scene. Close enough to everything, yet just far enough away to feel like its own little world.
Insider Tip
Walk all the way to the right side of Elia Beach and follow the path over the rocks until you reach the smaller cove, that’s the naturist section. Go early if you want space, bring water and essentials since facilities are limited there, and consider using the main beach services before settling in.
Who's Here
Mostly relaxed adults, with a strong presence of solo travelers and couples who already know the spot.
Beach Surface
A mix of sand and small pebbles with rocky edges around the cove.
Access Difficulty
Moderate since reaching the nudist section requires a short walk over uneven rocks from the main beach.
