Their Description
GG’s Childers Naturist Retreat describes itself as a true off-grid sanctuary - purpose built by naturists, for naturists. Situated on 420 acres of private bushland just outside the historic town of Childers in Queensland, this solar-powered retreat combines the raw beauty of nature with the comfort of a low-key, welcoming environment.
Framed by eucalypt forests and centred around a serene lake known affectionately as “Gilligan’s Island,” GG’s offers the perfect backdrop for nude relaxation. Whether you're paddling a kayak, taking a stroll along 20 km of walking trails, casting a line, or sharing stories at the 5pm happy hour, every inch of the property is designed to help you unwind and reconnect.
Accommodation options range from lakeside campgrounds and unpowered bush sites to glamping tents, on-site vans, and a cozy cabin - all designed with simplicity and nature immersion in mind. Communal spaces like the well-equipped kitchen, outdoor showers, and “The Kastle” clubhouse provide practical amenities with a social twist. The vibe is friendly, respectful, and always easy-going.
This is a nude resort (not clothing-optional): when the weather allows, guests are expected to be nude wherever possible, creating a shared understanding and body-positive culture. Visitors of all ages are welcome (with children under 16 exempt from nudity requirements), and pets are allowed on-leash, making the retreat both family and fur-friendly.
Their goal is clear: offer a relaxed, inclusive space where naturism feels natural. Whether you’re here for a quiet getaway or to connect with fellow naturists over a glass of wine by the lake, the warmth of the welcome is only matched by the Queensland sun.
GG’s Childers Naturist Retreat has Queensland's only legal nude beach!

Getting There
GG’s Childers is a well-signposted, easy-to-navigate retreat just outside the charming heritage town of Childers in Queensland. Whether you're arriving by car or bus, the journey is scenic, with sugarcane fields and bushland lining the way. The final approach is a well-maintained gravel road, and most vehicles - including campervans - shouldn’t have trouble accessing the property in all conditions.
By Car:
GG’s is about 6 minutes (4.7km) from Childers, just off the Isis Highway. From the centre of Childers, head towards the Thompson and Rainbows Road intersection (this is the only way to get to GGs) - follow Rainbow road south for 2km and you’ll see a brown “GG’s” sign on a black and yellow fence to the left. Follow the signs through the gate and along the gravel road (about 2.5 km) until you reach the main reception area. There’s ample parking near the camping and cabin zones, and the road is suitable for most cars, trailers and vans in normal weather.
Approximate driving times:
45 minutes from Bundaberg
1 hour from Hervey Bay
3.5 hours from Brisbane
By Public Transport:
While there’s no direct public transport to the gate, regular Greyhound and Premier buses stop in Childers. From there, it's best to arrange a taxi or call ahead - GG’s staff may be able to help coordinate a pickup if arranged in advance. If you’re arriving with gear, plan for a lift, as the 10 km to the retreat isn’t walkable due to unsealed roads and minimal shoulder space.
