The Good
- Natural Beauty: Nestled between charming villages, Mirtiotissa Beach is flanked by steep cliffs and lush vegetation, creating a secluded and picturesque setting.
- Welcoming Atmosphere: Known as a naturist paradise, this beach offers a welcoming and inclusive environment where naturism is fully tolerated and embraced.
- Pristine Waters: The crystal-clear turquoise waters and fine golden sand make it perfect for swimming and snorkeling, with a rocky seabed providing an excellent opportunity to explore marine life.
- Amenities: During peak season, a small beach bar offers refreshments and snacks, and local vendors set up stalls selling handmade crafts and beach essentials.
The Bad
- Crowded During Peak Season: The beach can get very crowded, especially during the summer months, making it difficult to find a good spot.
- Lack of Shade: There is no natural shade from trees, making it essential to bring an umbrella to avoid the intense sun.
- Challenging Access: The final stretch to the beach requires a hike down a steep path, which can be challenging, especially in the heat.
- Limited Parking: Parking is very limited and there is no dedicated car park, so you must park along a narrow road and walk to the beach.
The Naked Truth
Mirtiotissa Beach is a super cozy and beautiful beach, but its small size means you might end up blanket-to-blanket with other visitors. The serene setting and welcoming naturist atmosphere make it worth a visit, but be prepared for seasonal crowds and lack of shade. Despite these challenges, it offers a unique and memorable nude beach experience.
Insider Tip
Find a spot by the waters edge. The sun arrives sooner, the breeze is more readily available, and you won’t have your view of the sea blocked by umbrellas.

We recently spent a day at Mirtiotissa Beach on Corfu, and it quickly became one of our favorite spots on the island. Tucked away on the western coast, this hidden nudie gem offers an escape from the hustle and bustle, and it's easy to see why it's often described as one of the most beautiful nude beaches in Greece.

Getting to Mirtiotissa Beach is a bit of an adventure. We parked near Elia Taverna, as the locals advised, and made our way down a steep path to the beach. The hike was about half a mile, and while it was a bit challenging, especially in the summer heat, the breathtaking views of the Ionian Sea and the surrounding cliffs made it totally worth it.
The first thing that struck us was the stunning natural beauty. The beach is framed by steep cliffs covered in lush greenery, creating a sense of seclusion and tranquility. The golden sands stretch out into crystal-clear turquoise waters, perfect for swimming and snorkeling. We immediately felt the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere that Mirtiotissa is known for.
We arrived early, around 9:00 AM, to snag a good spot. By then, the beach was already starting to come alive with a mix of regulars and new faces. The naturist vibe is strong here, and it was refreshing to see people of all ages and backgrounds enjoying the sun and sea in their natural state. It felt like a close-knit community, with many visitors returning year after year.
The beach is relatively small, which adds to its charm. There’s a tiny beach bar that opens during the peak summer months, offering cold drinks and snacks. We grabbed a couple of drinks and chatted with the friendly bartender, who gave us tips on the best spots to swim and snorkel. .
One thing to note is the lack of natural shade, so definitely bring an umbrella or some form of cover. The sun can be quite intense, and there aren’t any trees to provide relief. We found a great spot by the water’s edge, where the breeze kept us cool and the view was simply unbeatable. You can rent umbrellas on the beach from 5- 10 euros per day.
As the day went on, the beach filled up quickly. By noon, it was almost at full capacity, but the atmosphere remained friendly and relaxed. We noticed a diverse crowd – couples, singles, and groups of friends, with naturists just outnumbering the clothed visitors. Everyone kept to themselves, but there was a sense of camaraderie that made us feel right at home.
The nearby village of Vatos is a great place to stay if you want to extend your visit. We stayed in a charming guesthouse there and loved the traditional Greek tavernas and shops. It’s a short drive from the beach and offers a perfect blend of convenience and seclusion.
Overall, our day at Mirtiotissa Beach was nothing short of magical. The combination of natural beauty, a welcoming community, and the sense of freedom that comes with naturism made it an unforgettable experience. Whether you’re a seasoned nude beach visitor or trying it out for the first time, Mirtiotissa Beach is a must-visit destination on Corfu.
