- Very little shade: The beach is exposed most of the day until late afternoon, so sun protection is essential.
- Limited facilities: No toilets, showers, rentals, or bins directly in the nude section itself.
- Noise from nearby bars: Music from lakeside cafés outside the naturist area can sometimes carry across the beach.
- Pebble surface: The shoreline is not sandy, which may be less comfortable for lounging without a mat or towel.

The Naked Truth
This is a legitimate naturist beach and nudity is the norm rather than the exception. The area is separated from the main Ada Ciganlija paths by vegetation, which creates a sense of privacy despite being close to a busy recreational zone. Most visitors come specifically for the clothing-optional environment, so the social expectations are clear and generally respectful.
The atmosphere varies depending on where you sit. Near the entrances, you may find couples or curious first-timers, while deeper into the beach the crowd becomes more experienced naturists, including a known gay-friendly section. It’s not a party environment; more relaxed sunbathing and swimming; but the demographic imbalance (more men than women) is noticeable on some days.
Insider Tip
If you want more privacy, walk farther along the shoreline away from the entrance paths. Late afternoon brings better shade and softer light.

Getting There
Ada Ciganlija Nude Beach is located on Ada Ciganlija Island/Lake, southwest of central Belgrade.
By Car: Drive toward Ada Ciganlija via local Belgrade roads and park in one of the large public parking areas around the recreational complex. From there, walk along the lakeside paths until you reach the naturist section, which is screened by hedges and vegetation.
By Foot or Bike: The island is connected to Belgrade by bridges and cycling paths. Walking or biking around the lake is common, and the nude beach is reached via the same lakeside route.
By Public Transport: City buses and taxis regularly serve Ada Ciganlija from central Belgrade. After arriving, expect a short walk along the promenade to reach the naturist area.
