Nudity Policy
OPTIONALNudity is option in the central and southern sections
The Good
- Naturist tradition: Cavallet is one of Spain’s earliest recognized nude beaches, and nudity remains a normal, respected part of its culture. You’ll find clothing-optional sunbathers throughout, especially in the middle and southern sections.
- Open and inclusive vibe: A mix of naturists, LGBTQ+ visitors, and relaxed travelers share the beach. The southern end near Chiringay is known for its lively, gay-friendly scene.
- Beautiful location: Set in the Ses Salines Natural Reserve, the beach offers sweeping views, clear turquoise water, and soft white sand surrounded by dunes. On calm days, it’s a great place to swim and unwind.
- Beach clubs and food: Chiringay and La Escollera serve meals, drinks, and cocktails steps from the sand. Both are popular spots for lunch or lounging with music and sunbeds.
- Nature nearby: Walks along the dunes or salt flats reveal a quieter side of Ibiza, ideal for photos or short hikes.
The Bad
- Crowded in summer: Cavallet can get packed in July and August. Arrive early for parking and a peaceful spot.
- Seaweed buildup: Depending on the wind, large piles of seaweed can cover parts of the shore. Cleanup is irregular, and it can affect swimming.
- Mixed service at beach clubs: While usually friendly, some visitors report rushed or disorganized service, especially later in the day when kitchens close early. Booking a late lunch may not guarantee the full menu.
- Limited facilities: No public restrooms or showers; amenities belong to beach bars only. Bring water, snacks, and sun protection.
- Party energy in parts: The southern end near Chiringay is social and lively; those seeking peace should head farther north.
The Naked Truth
Platja des Cavallet embodies Ibiza’s free-spirited side; naturist-friendly, inclusive, and effortlessly stylish.
Nudity feels normal, not forced, and the atmosphere shifts along the beach: calm and mixed near the entrance, lively and social by the southern bars, and more secluded farther north.
It’s stunning on clear days, but the experience can vary with wind and crowds. Come prepared for minimal facilities, bring your own shade, and be mindful of behavior in certain areas.
Insider Tip
For a quieter naturist spot, walk past the central section toward the southern end near Chiringay, or north for more space. Visit May–June or September for fewer crowds and cleaner water.
