The Good
- The water: The water at this beach is as close to perfect as you can get. Clear blue, mild temperature and eases into becoming deep it’s the perfect place to take a dip on a hot day
- Easy to get to: The walk to this beach isn’t far from the textile section and is only about 5 minutes long if you park past the main parking area
- The view: The Bay of Pag is stunning to look at and to swim in
- Purist: This beach is very well marked as FKK (Freikörperkultur, which translates to “free body culture”) and so the vast majority of people who venture here are naturists
The Bad
- Intimate size: The beach can feel small quickly on a hot day
- Payment required: The only way to access this beach is by car and there is a €5 fee to park
- Tide problems: When the tide comes up it impedes on the beach space a bit

I love the clarity that comes with Croatian nude beaches. Any that we have visited have been clearly marked with the FKK that is the universal symbol for “nude beach ahead”. This takes the guess work out of wondering if there will in fact be naturists there or not. It especially helps in a country where you don’t speak the language and Plaza Cista is no exception. We followed the trail marked by FKKs to find this stunning beach.
First though, we drove to the entrance of the beach and paid the standard €5 fee to park. We drove to the left of the main parking and beach bar area, up a hill to more parking spots. From there we walked about five minutes to the nude part of Plaza Cista.
We were impressed by the beauty as we approached this beach. Snuggled between two hills with a view of the beautiful Bay of Pag this is a beach to remember and revisit if you have the time!
The coastline is sandy and pebbly which is quickly becoming my favourite kind of beach! Soft enough to lay on but rocky enough that you don’t get covered in sand. The water is completely perfect too and was friendly enough for our baby to play around in. It has a shallow approach and very few waves except for the occasional watercraft-caused ones. The temperature of the water is perfectly refreshing without any shock and the bottom is totally sandy.
It’s hard not to gush over this stop because it really was so perfect in so many ways. Despite being close to Bay Bok (FKK Beach), the vibe here is much secluded and remote.

Getting There
Plaza Čista (Pag Island) sits on the wide, sandy curve between Pag Town and Novalja. The last stretch is on dusty farm tracks with big-sky views over the bay - totally doable in a regular car if you take it slow. There are no services on the access road, so bring water and sun protection.
By Car:
From Novalja: take road D106 toward Pag. After Gajac/Kolan, watch for local signs to Čista Beach. Turn onto the gravel track and follow it toward the sea for a few minutes.
From Pag Town: head north on D106 toward Novalja. After Kolan, follow signs for Čista / Cista and take the gravel turnoff to the beach.
Road & parking tips: The final 1–2 km is unpaved but fine if you drive slowly. Parking is €5/day (cash); attendants sometimes leave early afternoon, and late arrivals may find it free. Park on the far left up the hill - it’s closest to the main footpath down and usually less congested.
By Public Transport / Taxi:
No bus goes directly to the beach. Take a regional bus to Kolan, Gajac, Novalja, or Pag Town, then taxi/rideshare the last 10–15 minutes on the access track. Most visitors without a car grab a taxi from Novalja and pre-arrange pickup.
By Bike / On Foot:
Cycling from Gajac/Kolan is feasible; expect gravel, dust, and little shade. Walking from nearby bays takes 30–45 minutes on exposed tracks so go early or late and carry water.
