The Good

  • Decent Facilities: Paid parking, a beach bar, bathrooms, and chair rentals make it easy to settle in for the day.
  • Gorgeous Setting: The beach is rustic, clean, and surrounded by nature that still feels wild.
  • Safer Near the Bar: If you stick around the main area, most people are respectful and the vibe is chill.
  • On-Site Rooms: You can stay overnight if you want, though don’t expect anything fancy.
  • Lifeguards on Duty: It's nice knowing someone’s keeping an eye out, at least when it's busy.

The Bad

  • Wild Water: The sea is rough and not really safe for swimming — it’s more for looking than diving in. Pets are also now allowed in the water or on the beach.
  • Mixed Crowd: Nudity isn’t enforced, so you’ll end up with a mix of naked and fully dressed people.
  • Worn Out Facilities: The rooms and general setup feel tired and overdue for an update.
  • No Signal: No Wi-Fi, no service. You’re off the grid whether you like it or not.
  • Some Gawkers: Occasionally, groups of clothed guys just hanging around kind of kill the naturist vibe.
Naked Truth

The Naked Truth

Praia do Pinho has a lot going for it, but you need to stay sharp. It’s one of the most famous nude beaches in Brazil for a reason — the beach itself is beautiful, the naturist spirit is still alive, and if you stick to the main area, it can feel amazing. But parts of the beach and trails have a sketchy side, and the crowd can be hit or miss. If you’re ready for that mix, it’s still a beach worth checking out — just don't expect it to feel polished or perfectly safe in every corner.

I’ve lived in Balneário Camboriú for a few years now, but somehow never got around to checking out Praia do Pinho. My girlfriend and I had a rare Sunday off and figured, why not check out a nude beach in Brazil? We grabbed some snacks, threw a towel in the car, and went for it.

The drive was easy — Interpraias Road is a straight shot, and the signs are pretty obvious. The last bit is steep, but nothing crazy. We paid for parking right at the entrance because honestly, the idea of hiking back up later didn’t sound fun.

First impression: the beach is gorgeous. Big stretch of sand, wild hills behind you, and the ocean absolutely smashing the shore. Not a swimming beach unless you feel like battling the waves. We just waded in up to our knees to cool off, which was honestly perfect with how hot it was.

The crowd was mostly couples, a few groups of friends, and pretty much everyone kept to themselves. People were friendly but not pushy — just that nice "we're all here for the same reason" vibe. We didn’t see anything sketchy, but we also didn’t wander off into the trails. I've heard enough stories to know better.

Facilities are basic. There’s a little bar for drinks and a few bathrooms that do the job. No Wi-Fi and barely any cell service, but honestly? It was kind of nice to be forced to unplug for a few hours.

If you're expecting anything fancy, you’re going to be disappointed. But if you’re cool with a simple, natural beach where you can actually relax, Pinho delivers. Just be smart about where you set up, and bring more water than you think you’ll need. We’ll definitely be back — next time with a bigger cooler and maybe some beach chairs too.

Praia do Pinho isn’t perfect, but if you stick to the main beach and know what you’re walking into, it’s a solid spot to relax, swim (or just wade), and enjoy one of Brazil’s better-known nude beaches. Nothing fancy, just sand, surf, and a laid-back vibe if you pick the right spot.

Getting There

Praia do Pinho is easy to reach from Balneário Camboriú, one of Brazil’s most popular coastal cities. The road is paved and well signposted, but the final stretch down to the beach is steep. Parking is available right at the beach for a fee, or you can find free spots a little farther away if you don’t mind a short walk. Public transport is possible but not the most convenient if you're carrying a lot of gear.

By Car:
From downtown Balneário Camboriú, head south along the Interpraias Road (Rodovia Interpraias). Look for the clearly marked turnoff to Praia do Pinho. Paid parking is available right by the beach entrance (around R$50 a day), or you can park for free higher up the road if you don't mind a steeper walk down. The final section of road is steep and narrow but fully paved.

By Public Transport:
You can catch a local bus heading south from Balneário Camboriú along the Interpraias Road. However, the bus stop is not right at the beach entrance — expect about a 10 to 15-minute walk down a steep hill. Buses can also be infrequent outside of summer or weekends, so check schedules ahead of time if you're relying on public transport.
