Catamaran tours, exclusive wine tastings, fresh-baked goods delivered to your room and a sauna and cold-plunge experience right on site. There’s a lot to love about Resort Naturista Grottamiranda in the Puglia region of southern Italy.

We were hosted here in June 2026 and it was unlike anywhere we’d stayed before. Driving up to the resort, it really does feel like a little paradise tucked amongst the beautiful homes, countryside and villages of Puglia. We were greeted by the owners, Martine and Pierre, and pretty quickly felt like we were being welcomed into their home rather than just checking into a resort.

The pool is really the social centre of Grottamiranda. The whole setup makes it easy to meet and chat with other guests, but there’s absolutely no pressure to be social either. You can just as easily find a spot with a book and spend the afternoon doing your own thing. There’s also a small bar beside the pool, and quite often it’s Martine or Pierre themselves behind it, happily offering recommendations.

The accommodation is exceptionally clean and really thoughtfully done. The rooms take inspiration from the local surroundings and the property’s history as a former farm. And I still think about the sleeps I had in that bed — it was ridiculously comfortable! Each room also has its own outdoor space, so you can have some privacy when you want it, while the shared courtyards and other areas give you plenty of opportunities to be social.

There isn’t technically a restaurant on site, but honestly, you don’t really miss having one. A local chef prepares meals using local produce, with the menu changing depending on what’s fresh and available. We definitely recommend eating at Grottamiranda for at least a couple of nights during your stay. There are also some great restaurants in the nearby towns if you feel like heading out.

And one of our favourite little touches: you can order freshly baked goods to be delivered to your room in time for breakfast.

Pierre and Martine also do a great job organising activities and gatherings for guests. During our three-night stay we joined an exclusive Puglia wine tasting hosted by Pierre, as well as a catamaran trip along the coast. Both were clothing-optional/nude experiences, which made them feel pretty unique.

If you do the wine tasting, set aside the full three hours. It’s absolutely worth it. We learnt so much about wine from the Puglia region and got to try some genuinely exceptional wines along the way.

Then there’s the sauna and wellness area. This was probably one of our favourite parts of the entire resort. It’s tucked away towards the back of the property and feels incredibly peaceful. There’s a beautiful sauna, a cold plunge and loungers where you can simply lie in the sun and switch off for a while. Definitely make time for it while you’re there.

There weren’t many families with children staying during our visit. Our little guy was perfectly happy having plenty of space to explore, but we’re not sure how much there would be for an older child to do. For us, Grottamiranda feels especially suited to couples, or families travelling with very young children.

Our stay at Grottamiranda was genuinely special. We left relaxed, very well fed and having met some wonderful people.

Our only regret was that it went far too quickly. If you’re planning a stay, we’d recommend giving yourself at least 3-4 days to properly slow down and enjoy it.
