The Good

  • Stunning turquoise bay: Tsamadou is one of the most visually striking beaches on Samos, with clear blue water framed by green hills. The contrast between sea and forest gives it a lush, almost hidden feel.
  • Official nudist section: The eastern end of the beach is a recognised clothing-optional area. It is well understood by visitors, so nudity feels accepted rather than awkward.
  • Organised beach comfort: Sunbeds and umbrellas are available, along with beach bars serving drinks and food. It is easy to spend a full day here without needing to leave.
  • Great snorkeling water: The clear and deeper water makes it a good spot for spotting fish. Visibility is excellent, especially on calmer days.
  • Balanced crowd mix: The beach is split naturally between naturists and non-naturists, allowing both groups to enjoy the space without conflict.
  • Shaded hillside setting: Trees and cliffs around the bay create some natural shade and a more sheltered feeling compared to exposed beaches.

The Bad

  • Pebbly terrain: The beach is covered in small to medium stones, which can be uncomfortable without proper footwear.
  • Steep access path: Reaching the beach requires walking down a fairly steep path from the road, which can feel tiring on the way back up.
  • Cold, deep water: The sea can feel quite cold and drops off quickly, which may not suit everyone.
  • Toilet condition issues: While facilities exist, they are often reported as poorly maintained and not very clean.
  • Slightly higher prices: Sunbeds and food can be more expensive compared to other beaches on the island.
  • Awkward layout for facilities: Toilets are located near the nudist section, which can feel uncomfortable for some visitors using them.
Naked Truth

The Naked Truth

Tsamadou is one of the better-known naturist beaches on Samos and one of the easier places to strip off without feeling out of place.

The main beach is organised, with sunbeds, umbrellas and service, while the naturist section sits further along the bay and feels noticeably more relaxed. It’s a good setup if you want proper beach facilities nearby without having to give up the nude beach experience.

The water is clear, the bay is sheltered and the scenery is genuinely beautiful, but the biggest advantage is how established the naturist side feels. You’re not searching for a discreet corner or wondering whether nudity is accepted - this is somewhere people specifically come to sunbathe and swim nude.

If you’re looking for a straightforward, comfortable nude beach in Samos, Tsamadou is an easy one to recommend.

Insider Tip

Wear water shoes for the pebbles and arrive earlier in the day to avoid the steeper midday heat on the path. If you want the nudist section, head to the right side as you descend. Bring some cash for sunbeds and drinks, and keep expectations low for the toilets.

Who's Here

A mix of international tourists, naturists, couples, and beachgoers splitting between the organised and nude sections.

Beach Surface

Small to medium pebbles with clear, deep water just a few steps from shore.

Access Difficulty

Moderate, due to a steep path from the road down to the beach.
