Zavala Nudist Beach is a small, quiet naturist spot on Hvar with clear water and a rocky shoreline.
It’s not a big beach and there isn’t much in the way of facilities, so this is better suited to people who want somewhere simple and relatively peaceful rather than a busy beach club atmosphere.
The water is exceptionally clear and good for swimming and snorkelling, but the rocky shore means it’s worth bringing suitable footwear and something comfortable to lie on.
The crowd is generally low-key, and there’s enough separation to find your own space without feeling crowded.
If you’re looking for a relaxed nude beach in Hvar away from the island’s busier spots, Zavala is a good one to check out.
Insider Tip
Bring water shoes to handle both the rocky shore and sea urchins, and pack a comfortable mat for the pebbles. The best time to visit is in the morning when the water is calmest and the light is soft. If you plan to eat, the nearby restaurant is worth a stop, but it is still a good idea to carry your own water and essentials.

Getting There
Zavala Nudist Beach is located near the village of Zavala on the southern coast of Hvar Island, Croatia.
By car or on foot: Drive through the tunnel from the northern side of Hvar toward Zavala, then follow local roads toward the coast. Park in the free areas nearby and walk a short distance to the clearly marked FKK section.
By public transport: Reach Hvar Island by ferry from Split, then travel by bus or taxi toward Zavala. From the village, it is a short walk along the paths to reach the naturist beach.
