The Good
- Easy Access: You can park right on the beach, walk along the beach path, or even take the little train almost all the way here from the other end of Golden Sands.
- Everyone is Naked: Nudity is mandatory on the designated side, which is great if you're a first-timer and prefer not to be surrounded by those wearing textiles.
- Friendly Snack Bar: Conveniently located right on the beach, you can enjoy drinks and lunch 'au naturel' if you choose!
- Perfect Stretch of Beach: Free from seaweed or rocks, this pristine beach offers an ideal spot for relaxation.
The Bad
- Rental for Loungers and Umbrellas: These require a paid rental. If you want to avoid this, you can opt not to use them, but keep in mind that the unpaid space at the front of the beach can be limited.
- Proximity to Sewerage Treatment Facility: The beach is located near a sewage treatment facility. If the wind blows in the wrong direction, it can be quite unpleasant! However, upgrades to the facility are underway, so this issue should not persist in the future.
- Not a Remote or Wild Beach: While this is a relaxing nude beach, it is situated within a city and can get quite busy.
The Naked Truth
Nirvana Beach is an oasis amidst the concrete jungle of resorts in Golden Sands. Situated at the base of a cliff, it is tucked away at the northern edge of the resort city. This is Bulgaria's busiest nude beach; however, despite this, it maintains a relaxed and chill atmosphere, especially when compared to the nearby bustling hotel beaches. Be aware that on the nude side, getting naked is not optional. The sand is soft, the beach bar offers tasty food, and you'll feel a world away from the all-inclusive mega-structures. What's not to like!
Insider Tip
Avoid paying for a lounger on the beach by laying on the sand. Pack a large beach blanket and you're good to go!

Nirvana Beach is one of the busiest nude beaches in Bulgaria. That's not a bad thing; just don't expect a wild or expansive beach with miles of room to move. There are plenty of other wild beaches nearby that are also worth a visit, the closest being Baltata in Albena. The beach stands out from the sanitized resort beaches and offers a much-needed alternative. One section is textiles-only, but the other part of the beach closest to the cliffs is nude-only - this is not optional.

Nirvana Beach is one of the busiest nude beaches in Bulgaria. That's not a bad thing; just don't expect a wild or expansive beach with miles of room to move. There are plenty of other wild beaches nearby that are also worth a visit, the closest being Baltata in Albena. One section is textiles-only, but the other part of the beach closest to the cliffs is nude-only - this is not optional.
Almost everyone here is a tourist, mostly young families and couples from nearby hotels who have made the trek for a day in the sun. The snack bar on the beach is a great place for conversation, and the owner is a lively guy who will definitely point you in the right direction if you're after local advice. Have a homemade shot of rakia if you really want to get the local experience! You can also eat and drink in the nude if you wish, which is cool.
We've come to this beach several times over the last couple of years and had a great experience. The sand is perfect and on a peaceful day, the water is calm and warm. Be aware that the wind can pick up quickly in this part of the world with waves suddenly appearing on the Black Sea. While the beach is only relatively small, it has everything you'd want for a city beach. We were very comfortable here as 'newbie nudies' a few years ago and happily spent all day here au naturale without any complaints.
Nearby Laguna Beach Resort is a hidden gem and highly recommended if you want to avoid the concrete jungle hotels in Golden Sands. You can literally walk from the resort to Nirvana Beach without leaving the sand. The cottages here are basic but clean, and camping is also available. Note that you can't be nude on Laguna Beach or the resort grounds, but it is only a short walk to freedom! We were warned that sometimes 'erotic behavior' occurs in the section under the cliffs between Laguna Beach and Nirvana Beach - we've never experienced this until our last visit when it appeared two people were engaging in some 'extra beach activities'. However, upon seeing us, they appeared very embarrassed and quickly ran off the beach. So, it's safe to say that this doesn't happen regularly and is definitely not intended to be out in the open.
Nirvana Beach is the best beach in Golden Sands by far. Okay, we're totally biased, but even without the nudity, this section of sand is a small slice of paradise. It's a great place to get nude for the first time - we did and had no regrets. You're also spoiled by the tasty food and drinks at the beach bar. It is slightly more expensive than elsewhere but worth it for the location and cheap by international standards. If you do get bored, there are jet skis and standup paddleboards in the textile section that you can rent. Bulgarian nude beaches are some of the best, and even their city beaches don't disappoint.

Getting There
There is plenty of parking available near Nirvana Fish Restaurant. It's been said that during peak times, you may need to pay a small cash fee for parking, but we've never experienced this in June or July.
Access from any resort in Golden Sands is very straightforward - just walk until you pass the marina, and you'll easily spot Nirvana Beach. Alternatively, you could catch the mini-train to save some energy. It costs 5 leva from the furthest point on the beach to the marina. From there, it's less than a 5-minute walk to the beach.

This nearby gem serves come of the best fish in Golden Sands. The reviews speak for themselves and it is usually busy all day.

Unfortunately there are no clothing optional hotels or resorts nearby. There are lots of accommodation options in Golden Sands. Our favourite pick just happens to be closest to Nirvana Beach and the most secluded:
Laguna Beach Resort -
The closest accommodation to the nude beach. It's a short 5min stroll along the sand and you're on Nirvana Beach. So easy.
Bonus that it feels like you're staying in a secluded park, rather than a few blocks from the gigantic resorts of Golden Sands.
Staff are friendly and the restaurant here is affordable + very tasty! The bungalows are basic but clean. Nudity isn't allowed here or on Laguna Beach - but you are very close to the nude section.
